Plan ahead to keep yourself and those around you safe and healthy.
The holiday season is upon us, which means many of us have travel on our minds. With COVID-19 cases spiking across the country, many states have issued or continue to enforce travel restrictions – both internationally and on a state-to-state basis.
To continue maintaining the health and safety of all employees, please keep in mind Olympic Steel’s Pandemic Preparedness & Response Policy, which may require a 14-day post-travel self-quarantine, depending upon where you travel.
Following are a few reminders:
- Check the travel status of the state where you live (departure state) and your destination state(s) for restrictions. (When traveling through multiple states by car or other travel method, be sure to check all states for restrictions.)
- If all of the areas you plan to travel through have “unrestricted travel”, then no self-quarantine is required.
- If one or more of your destinations has a travel restriction, you will be required to self-quarantine for 14-days upon your return.
International Travel: All international travel will require a 14-day self-quarantine.
Please contact your Regional HR Manager in advance of international travel or travel that will require self-quarantine, according to state restrictions.
For travel restrictions, recommendations and updates, visit cdc.gov or the state government-managed (.gov) COVID-19 update website for the state(s) you plan to visit. Be sure to check this information before booking and again prior to departure, as travel restrictions change frequently.
Paid Time Off During Self-Quarantine
If you are an employee who cannot work remotely during a personal travel related quarantine, you will be required to use all available time off to excuse your absence(s) from work.
If you are an employee who can work remotely during a personal travel related quarantine, you may be allowed to do so at the discretion of your supervisor.
