Mark Your Calendar! 2021 Open Enrollment.

It’s almost time to make changes to your benefit elections! Get the most from your coverage by understanding everything that’s offered.

As we get closer to the end of the year, we shift our thoughts to preparing for 2021. With that comes Open Enrollment, the two weeks each year dedicated to choosing the best benefits for yourself and your family. It’s also important, because it’s the only time you can make changes to your benefits elections, outside of a Qualifying Life Event (such as a birth, marriage, divorce or loss of coverage through your spouse’s benefits).

For 2021, there will be no major plan changes. Watch for additional information and important instructions to follow in the weeks ahead.

In the meantime, there’s so much more to Olympic Steel’s benefits than you may realize. In addition to medical, dental, vision, disability and accident insurance, there are also programs designed to help you get the most out of your insurance coverage and make every dollar count:

  • Virtual Visits – Skip the waiting room and schedule a house call! UnitedHealthcare (UHC) partners with three telemedicine vendors to provide virtual visits – an office visit wherever you are – at work, home or traveling. When you see a doctor through one of these networks, your visit is FREE of charge. A Virtual Visit doctor can treat everyday illnesses like the flu, sinus infections, a cough, allergies, rashes and more. Visit myuhc.com to learn more.
  • Real Appeal – A simple, step-by-step program to help you get on the fast track to lasting weight loss. It’s FREE and available to anyone enrolled in the UHC medical plan and have a BMI of 23 or higher. The program comes with a Real Appeal Success Kit that’s packed with items you need to support your weight loss journey, including a digital weight scale, digital food scale, a portion plate, resistance band, recipe book and workout DVDs. Learn more at realappeal.com.
  • HealthChampion – This program empowers you to make better health care choices. Trained health care advocates partner with you to help you understand your health care plan and to work through your medical concerns through individual consultation. This is a free and confidential service to all employees enrolled in Olympic Steel’s benefit plan.
