Monthly Safety Report: Continued Momentum

Our relentless focus on Safety is continuing to yield positive results.

We’re moving – safely in the right direction! November Safety Stats (data through October 2020) were recently published to all employees, and we continue to make great strides.

Here are the highlights:

  • Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) – IMPROVED 43%, when comparing the current rate of 4.3 to the peak rate of 7.4 from October 2019
  • Overall Number of Injuries – IMPROVED 3.4x faster (steeper slope) than the decrease in hours worked
  • Producing More Poka Yokes – 23 Poka Yokes included in this month’s report
  • We’re Getting Even Better at Identifying Risks – More high potential Near Miss Reports submitted from across the Company to help us learn and avoid accidents and incidents

Watch for December Safety Stats, and in the meantime, continue to share your improvements with the entire organization by submitting your division’s Poka Yokes to Tony Dominic, Director – Safety, Health & Environment, at Tony.Dominic@olysteel.com.

And, don’t forget about the 4Q Safety Challenge!

Safety First. Always. And, it starts with me.
