2024 Chairman's Citizenship Award Winners

The Chairman’s Citizenship Award recognizes employees for outstanding contributions to the community and leadership in demonstrating Olympic Steel’s Corporate Citizenship Core Value. Congratulations to this year’s award recipients - going “above and beyond” in the local community.

National Volunteer Week is April 22 – April 26. To celebrate, we’re announcing our winners of the 2024 Chairman’s Citizenship Award, People’s Choice Award and Honorable Mention Award. This annual recognition celebrates employees for their outstanding contributions to the community and their leadership in demonstrating Olympic Steel’s Corporate Citizenship Core Value.

 

This year we had the largest group of nominees we’ve ever had – seven employees from Chicago Tube & Iron, Shaw Stainless & Alloy and Olympic Steel. Click here to read the 2024 nominee profiles.

LARISSA SMERER

Larissa’s inspiring efforts to raise awareness for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome have earned her this special recognition and a $500 donation made in her name to The Ehlers-Danlos Society.


Employee's Choice Award Recipient

Casey Sherlock, Chicago Tube & Iron, Romeoville, Illinois

A $250 donation will be made in Casey's name to Humanitarian Service Project.


Honorable Mention Award Recipient

Pedro Garcia, Olympic Steel, Milford, Connecticut

A $100 donation will be made in Pedro's name to Hip Hop 1001.
