FMA Recognizes Nine Locations for Outstanding Safety

The Fabricators & Manufactures Association, International (FMA) has presented Safety Awards to nine Olympic Steel divisions/locations for their excellent safety performance in 2018.

The 2019 Safety Award of Honor recognizes companies having perfect safety records, which means zero OSHA recordable injuries or illnesses for calendar year 2018, and was presented to:


  • Integrity Stainless, Latrobe, Pennsylvania
  • McCullough Industries, Kenton, Ohio
  • Olympic Steel, Bedford Heights, Ohio
  • Olympic Steel, Gary, Indiana
  • Olympic Steel, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky

The 2019 Safety Award of Merit recognizes companies posting an OSHA recordable injury and illness rate for calendar year 2018 that is better than the published Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) rate by 10 percent or greater. Four Olympic Steel locations received this honor:


  • Olympic Steel, Bedford Heights, Ohio
  • Olympic Steel, Detroit Michigan
  • Olympic Steel, Plymouth, Minnesota (Plate and Coil facilities)
  • Olympic Steel, Winder, Georgia
