Introducing Microsoft 365

The same office tools, but with more flexibility for users and teams.

If Olympic Steel provided you a computer to use each day to do your job, then you were probably also given access to a suite of products called Microsoft 365. But, what is Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 is a set of applications that live in the cloud, and are accessed from OSSIE 365. They are Microsoft applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint – the same office tools you’re used to using, but with more benefits:

  • Productivity wherever you are by using the cloud to access applications, store your files and contact your team through chat and online meetings, without connecting through VPN
  • Less paperwork by viewing, editing and sharing documents through the apps, rather than printing
  • Collaboration between teams to give feedback, share and edit files in real-time and at the same time without excessive emailing or back-and-forth
  • Stronger security to defend against viruses, malware and phishing attempts

Through the end of the year, we’ll highlight a frequently-used application and offer tips to help you get the most out of your Microsoft 365 apps and tools.

In the meantime, explore on your own! Visit OSSIE, and select the icon in the top left corner (affectionately called the “waffle’ by our IT team). It will launch the complete list of Microsoft 365 applications. Check them out and unlock all of the efficiency and collaboration tools available to you and your team!
