When Jeremy Carpenter accepted the Supervisor position, he was excited about the “to do list” that came with it. A challenge he eagerly accepted because he knows knocking out that list will create a longer tally of accomplishments.

Jeremy began working at Olympic Steel in 2010 as a temporary employee in the Deslag Department. In 2011, he was hired and promoted to Machine Operator. Six years later, he moved into the Quality Department as a Quality Technician, and in a little over a year, he moved back to Operations with a promotion to Production Supervisor.

He’s most proud of the recognition he’s received as an Fe Award of Excellence winner and, most recently, as an I AM Olympic Steel Brand Ambassador. These acknowledge the hard work he puts in every day. He holds himself accountable for solving problems and completing tasks, even if it means getting his hands dirty.

Jeremy is always ready to dive in head first and get involved. As a former certified personal trainer, he is no stranger to taking the lead and motivating others to accomplish their goals. In fact, it’s what makes him happy to come to work each day – new challenges and new opportunities to participate in making things happen.

When asked for his advice on how to be successful at Olympic Steel, without hesitation Jeremy said, “Don’t compare yourself to others. No matter what’s going on around you, do what you know is right, constantly push toward your goals and never give up.”
