John “JJ” Jasionek

John Jasionek, referred to as JJ, puts the lead in Team Lead at CTI.
JJ started his career with Chicago Tube & Iron in 1993 as an Order Packer on second shift at the Romeoville, IL branch, originally located in Chicago, IL. He eventually moved to first shift where he increased his knowledge of warehouse processes, including learning how to do inventory. As his skills developed, JJ’s ability to lead others through his own action became evident. In 2006, JJ was promoted to a first shift supervisor position, known as Team Lead. In this role, he oversees shop employees, is part of the Inventory Team and assists the Plant Manager.
Being promoted to a supervisor role is one of JJ’s proudest moments. It ranks right up there with being nominated and winning an Fe Award of Excellence for his flawless performance in 3Q2021. John received the award for going above and beyond to support the Romeoville team and other CTI locations when they needed help training new employees and other operations support.
JJ credits his previous supervisors for helping him the most during his career. He says, “They didn’t just tell me what to do, they showed me how to do it. Their direction and faith in me encouraged me to do more and consider opportunities for advancement.”
By taking advantage of every opportunity, JJ has taken the lead in his career. He is happy to come to work each day, saying, “I like to come in and get the job done – meet new people and work together to stay ahead.” He also offers this advice to other looking to take the lead in their career: “Stay safe. Be happy. Learn as much as you can.”
“John has a wealth of knowledge and experience. He enjoys teaching and training others and passing on the skills he possesses to the next generation of employees. He motivates and leads his co-workers through his own actions,” says Raul Saucedo, Operations Manager for the Romeoville locations.
It’s been said that actions speak louder than words, and in JJ’s case – that’s the absolute truth. He has a relationship with his coworkers that can only be developed by proving himself as a reliable, trustworthy leader through honest hard work that supports the entire team.
