Manufactured Metal Products
Canopy components, venting and air filtration systems, industrial hoppers, water treatment systems and dump inserts are metal-intensive end-use products that are an important part of the Olympic Steel family of brands.
To further our strategy of safe, sustainable and profitable growth, Olympic Steel has expanded into the manufacturing of end-use products. From the addition of McCullough Industries in 2019 to our most recent acquisition of MetalWorks in 2024, we have added five manufactured metals brands to the Company – each providing an opportunity to broaden our portfolio while complementing our existing products and services.
MCCULLOUGH INDUSTRIES
Acquired in January of 2019, McCullough Industries was Olympic Steel’s first foray into end-use products. The Wright® brand hopper, a heavy-duty steel container used to store and move materials (think mini dumpster or metal box), is produced in Kenton, OH. The product line includes self-dumping, bump release, low profile and quick attach hoppers for many industrial uses. There are more than 1,000 variations available (including carbon and stainless steel models) with multiple sizes, paint options and accessories such as casters and lids.
EZ-DUMPER®
In August of 2019, EZ-Dumper® became part of Olympic Steel’s Manufactured Metals business group and was integrated into our facility in Chambersburg, PA. EZ-Dumper® produces hydraulic carbon and stainless steel dump inserts for truck beds. They fit most standard pickup trucks, short-bed trucks, service and utility trucks. These rugged inserts are made to stand up to tough conditions and environments and can be powder-coated and custom designed for unique uses in applications like landscaping, construction and much more.
SHAW STAINLESS & ALLOYS
Shaw Stainless & Alloys joined Olympic Steel in October of 2021. Based in Powder Springs, GA, they expanded our stainless steel product offerings with water treatment systems, metal platforms and stairs, and bollards – safety barrier posts. They also specialize in the distribution of large diameter and stainless steel pipe, valves and fittings and offer fabrication services to customize stainless steel materials to specification.
METAL-FAB
We welcomed Metal-Fab as part of Olympic Steel’s metal-intensive products in January of 2023. Produced from facilities in Wichita, KS, they use primarily galvanized metal in their extensive line of residential and commercial venting solutions, covering the HVAC, hearth and plumbing industries. Metal-Fab also manufactures Micro Air® industrial air filtration equipment and solutions for providing clean workplace environments.
METALWORKS
Olympic Steel closed out 2024 with the acquisition of MetalWorks, based in Oakwood, GA. The business primarily uses galvanized steel to manufacture end-use service station and similar canopies. MetalWorks also produces solar installations, deck clips, long gutters, boat docks and racking.
