Mid-Year Safety Action Plan Update

It’s been a busy first half of the year! Let’s review the progress we’re making toward achieving our 2022 Safety Objectives.

With the first half of the year behind us, let’s review the eight Safety Objectives and our progress toward meeting those goals as of 7.31.22. Achieving these goals is an all-in team effort across the Company, as we continue our focus on building the foundation of our Safety culture.

2022 Safety Objectives

  1. Establish a Safety Committee or Safety Team. Meet at least 1x/month.
  2. Review or update Job Safety Analyses and PPE Assessments for each job/task performed.
  3. Create machine-specific LOTO procedures for all machines and equipment that has 1+ energy source. Inspect each procedure at least 1x/year.
  4. Complete Safety training as required, including Powered Industrial Trucks and Crane Operator training.
  5. Complete weekly Safety / 5S / Housekeeping walks.
  6. Complete a Dock Safety or Traffic Safety project.
  7. Complete at least one Safety Improvement Activity using the Poka Yoke process per quarter (4x/year).
  8. Document at least one Near Miss Event per month (12x/year).

And, as we approach the end of the third quarter, think about how you can help us achieve these goals in our effort to Be Safe, Be Profitable and Be Engaged.
