Monthly Safety Report: More than Facts and Figures

We’re showing improvement year-over-year through our relentless focus on safety.

Our dedication to safety is relentless, and it shows. September Safety Stats (data through August 2020) were shared early last month, and our progress is evident. Here are some highlights that prove we’re focused on the safety of all employees, each and every day:

  • Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) has improved 42% since October 2019
  • 45 fewer OSHA recordable injuries (compared to the same timeframe one year ago)
  • 5 new Poka Yokes that identify new ways to reduce our safety risks and exposures.

Let’s use this momentum to continue making big advances in the final quarter of the year!

Stay tuned for October Safety Stats and share your improvements with the entire organization by submitting your division’s Poka Yokes to Tony Dominic, Director – Safety, Health & Environment, at Tony.Dominic@olysteel.com. Chances are good that your improvement is something that can also benefit at least one other division and help make Olympic Steel a safer place to work.
