Olympic Steel’s expansion and new specialty metals CLT line and sheet racks are featured in Modern Metals magazine.
Schaumburg’s new racking system was highlighted in this month’s Modern Metals. In October 2018, this location unveiled its 42,000 square foot facility expansion, which included a new specialty metals Cut to Length (CTL) line and new sheet storage racks.
The Modern Metals article highlights how we moved away from traditional horizontal stacking of sheet metal to accommodate our new coil processing line.
We are certainly getting the most out of the 42,000-square-foot expansion, using half of the square footage we would have traditionally used with a typical stacking method. We are able to store not only metal sheet but also maintenance-related items, allowing us to be better organized and more cost-efficient in our facility. And the new set-up is even safer than it was before… always a good thing!
We love celebrating our successes, and it’s great to be recognized by the media, as well. Read all about it
Congrats again to everyone in Schaumburg!
