One Olympic Team Spotlight - Amy Neyhard

Meet Amy Neyhard, Inventory Analyst for CTI's Fond du Lac location and a member of our One Olympic Team Measuring Effectiveness Subcommittee.

In 2023, Olympic Steel reached a significant milestone in our diversity efforts by establishing employee-run One Olympic Council Subcommittees. These individuals volunteered to take part in this work, in addition to their regular job duties, because they each wanted to make a positive impact on our Company.

Each month, we’ll give you the opportunity to learn a little bit more about the employees helping to strengthen Olympic Steel’s culture. Last month we featured Crystall Thomas and this month…

Amy Neyhard, Inventory Analyst, Chicago Tube & Iron

Q: What motivated you to become a DEI Council Member?

A: I have always felt drawn to underdogs. I want to do what I can to help prevent that underdog feeling for others.

Q: Share a unique fun fact or characteristic about yourself.

A: My favorite season is winter. Not because I enjoy winter sports (other than ice fishing). I just find winter as clean and fresh.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about being an Olympic Steel employee?

A: The feeling of being part of a greater family of sorts. Everyone I have encountered from Olympic Steel has been very receptive and helpful.

Q: In your opinion, what's a simple action everyone can take to make our Company a welcoming workplace?

A: Leave the drama at the door. We are all here for the same reason. Work together to make it happen.

Q: When it comes to work, what’s your superpower? What special skill do you offer to support your co-workers/team?

A: I am a problem solver. Besides working for CTI longer than many of my coworkers, I like to work through issues until a solution has been achieved.

Q: What cultural/heritage celebration or tradition holds special meaning for you? Mind sharing why?

A: I don't have one that stands out, but I do enjoy learning about other cultures and traditions.
