Rick Marabito Speaks at MSCI Safety Conference
Rick Marabito spoke at a recent MSCI Safety Conference with nearly 20 leaders from across our divisions attended.
Our very own CEO, Rick Marabito, was a keynote speaker at the 2019 MSCI Safety Conference in Schaumburg, IL. Rick shared our philosophy on the role of leadership in championing a safety culture and included an interactive self-assessment for leaders in attendance.
After all, our company’s mission statement is to “Achieve profitable growth by safely providing quality business solutions for metal product users.” Safety is at the heart of all we do.
In fact, we believe in safety so much that many of our Safety, Operations, HR and Quality leaders from across our company also attended the conference. They heard presentations from safety leaders in our industry to learn about and share with our division teams:
- Crane safety
- New employee safety training and onboarding best practices
- Machine safeguarding
- Building and rebuilding a commitment to safety
- Safety leadership and more presented by safety leaders from our industry.
A special and inspiring presentation was given at the conference by Captain Larry Brudnicki, U.S. Coast Guard (retired). He shared his experience as the Captain of the Coast Guard ship that performed two daring rescue missions during the worst weather in more than 100 years. He described how leadership, teamwork, courage and risk management strategies helped them to not only survive but succeed.
