Safety Challenge Update

Who’s leading the Company with highest participation to date?

Two weeks ago, we kicked off a Safety Challenge, Making a Personal Commitment to Safety. Employees across the Company have accepted the challenge and are submitting their commitments to help their region win big!

We’ve reached the halfway point and here’s where we stand:

Top Three Regions

  • 77.5% – Region 2: Buford, Detroit, Hanceville, Winder
  • 71% – Region 3: Bettendorf, Minneapolis – Coil, Minneapolis – Plate
  • 43.8% – Region 1: Chambersburg, Cleveland, Dover, Milford, Mount Sterling; McCullough Industries; EZ-Dumper

Divisions with 100% Participation

  • Olympic Steel, Mount Sterling, KY (Region 1)
  • Olympic Steel, Bettendorf, IA (Region 3)
  • All Action Stainless & Alloys Divisions (Region 4)
  • Olympic Steel, Buford, GA (Region 2)
  • Olympic Steel, Hanceville, GA (Region 2)

Remember, participants in the winning region will receive branded merchandise. You could also be featured in a video following the contest if your personal commitment to Safety is selected as being especially inspiring, like these:

“I commit to attend all Safety meetings and show I care about Safety because I want to keep Olympic an injury-free environment and a safe place to work. My coworkers inspire me to put Safety first.” Connor McNally, Senior Inside Sales Representative, Detroit, MI

“I commit to refrain from opening emails and texts while driving because it will ensure my Safety, and all others, on the road. My Safety Manager motivates me to put Safety first.” Jennifer Wintheiser, Outside Sales, Minneapolis – Plate, MN

“I commit to making sure customers who visit are aware of tour safety protocols because our customers’ safety is key and it shows we take their safety seriously. My customers motivate me to put safety first.” Kyle Triplett, Regional Sales Manager, Cleveland, OH

It’s not too late to share your personal commitment to help your region achieve the highest participation. See your division’s Safety or Communications contact for a Personal Commitment to Safety form, then submit the completed form by Friday, May 28.
