Teamwork During a Time of Crisis

When large contracts called for immediate attention, Olympic Steel and Chicago Tube & Iron teams worked together to supply our frontlines during a national crisis.

T.E.A.M. Together. Everyone. Achieves. More.

That’s certainly the case for Olympic Steel and Chicago Tube & Iron employees who worked together to quickly satisfy requests from two medical equipment customers who needed to provide additional beds and intravenous (IV) units to hospitals during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sean Vietti, CTI-Romeoville’s General Manager, secured a large order from Stryker to build an additional 10,000 hospital beds. Chicago Tube & Iron’s laser cut tubing and Olympic Steel’s flat rolled laser cut parts combined to meet and exceed Stryker’s expectations.

At the same time, Andrew Wolfort, Olympic Steel Regional Vice President and Schaumburg General Manager, received a request to supply base plates for 70,000 IV units. Paired with the heavy gauge stainless poles from Chicago Tube & Iron, these divisions completed 70,000 IV units that are to be distributed to hospitals across the nation.

These large contracts called for immediate attention and a swift action to support our national coronavirus response. Olympic Steel and Chicago Tube & Iron teams worked together seamlessly to supply our frontlines during a national crisis, while keeping American workers employed. Indeed, together everyone achieves more.
