As part of her responsibilities, Dana Beard, Manager – HR, Safety & Health, tackles Safety Leadership for all the Action Stainless & Alloys locations. After noticing deficiencies in Action’s Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, Dana visited each location and worked with the local teams to write new LOTO procedures and train all employees on the new program. Dana is passionate about Safety and her extraordinary efforts to align Action’s Safety programs with Olympic Steel’s 2021 Safety Action Plan for each location has not gone unnoticed. Not only have her efforts improved Action’s compliance with OSHA regulations, she’s aligned her teams with Olympic Steel’s procedures and resources.
Lesson Learned:
Just because something has always been done a certain way, doesn’t mean it should stay that way. When it comes to keeping people safe, continuous improvement is the only option.
