Brittany Rabreau, Sr. Inside Sales Representative, Shaw Stainless & Alloy, Powder Springs, GA

In 2006, Brittany Rabreau, Senior Inside Sales Representative, started her career at Shaw Stainless & Alloy as a part-time Sales Assistant. During that time, she was enrolled as a student at Georgia State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration. She recalls, “The company was rather small when I started, so I’ve done a little bit of everything – administration, purchasing and accounting. I asked a lot of questions in the beginning to learn everything I could about the business. In 2010, I transitioned full-time into inside sales and customer service. After finding a typo on our website early in my career, my role evolved to include marketing coordinator, too!”

 

Although Inside Sales is Brittany’s primary function, she loves the creative aspect that her marketing responsibilities provide. She explains, “I especially enjoy planning and attending our events, industry trade show booths, and Town Hall meetings. They’re fun and diverse networking opportunities.”

 

Brittany’s proud to be part of Olympic Steel and the first Shaw Stainless employee to be recognized for having the Attitude of an Olympian. She says, “I was honored to have a surprise call with Bryan Shaw [Shaw Stainless President] and Rick Marabito [Olympic Steel CEO] to congratulate me on this incredible recognition. It has been great to expand our business and explore opportunities we wouldn’t have had before Olympic Steel acquired Shaw.”

 

One of those opportunities is access to wellness programs and a comprehensive benefits package. “I really like the wellness challenges. They encourage me to stay active, especially as a remote employee because it's easy to get immersed in the busy workday and miss the extra lunch steps needed to meet my goals. Participating in the challenges helps keep me engaged with the rest of the Company.”

When asked about which of our Core Values she best represents, Brittany replied, “Accountability and Customer Satisfaction. I prioritize actively managing tasks and responsibilities as well as responding quickly and thoroughly to requests to keep customers satisfied."

 

Brittany’s experience and knowledge of the industry makes her a good resource for her coworkers, and that makes her happy to come to work each day. “My coworkers can count on me to assist in any way possible to help us get the job done,” she says.

 

Bryan says, “Brittany is a top producer in distribution sales and excels at customer service in daily operations. Since joining the Olympic Steel team and in addition to her sales and marketing responsibilities, she has taken the lead for Shaw’s Corporate Citizenship efforts and is an important part of instilling Olympic Steel’s culture and Core Values into Shaw Stainless.”

 

As Brittany continues to focus on the growth of Shaw’s inside sales function, she reflects on what helped her throughout her almost 20 years with Shaw Stainless and offers this advice to others interested in building a great career with Olympic Steel: “Be a team player. Learn as much as possible from experienced members of your team and utilize available resources to support personal and career growth. Focus on productivity, efficiency and positivity."
