Continuing Our Growth and Investing in Our Future
Focusing our efforts on what we can control – how and where we invest in our growth, moving our inventory and managing our expenses is important to our future success.
It’s been a busy second and third quarter – across all segments of the business. Monthly employee activities, the CEO Safety Road Show, the return of the annual General Managers meeting and more. Time and money invested in our employees and our business is an investment in our future.
Across the Company, we’re also investing in our equipment. Rick Marabito, CEO, mentioned these improvements in his 2Q State of the Business address, but let’s review again:
- Second automotive stamping line in Winder, GA
- New leased 80,000 sq. ft. specialty metals fabrication facility in Bartlett, IL
- 30,000 sq. ft. expansion beginning at our pipe and tube facility in Des Moines, IA
- New lasers at several locations
- Automated robotic welding in Buford, GA
“We are excited to advance our capital deployment strategy, making meaningful investments in all three of our business segments to expand our capacity to serve our growing customer base and enhance our returns,” said Rick Marabito, in the 2Q2022 earnings release.
Sharing Our Opportunities
Investing in our future includes investing in our industry – after all, Manufacturers Make America! As a critical piece of the American supply chain, the work we do – in every business segment, every division and every role across the organization – has an impact.
We recently participated in a Manufacturing Day event at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, Ohio to give nearby high school students a glimpse into what it’s like to be part of Olympic Steel. Events like these help us educate our youth about the endless opportunities available in the manufacturing industry.
