David Gutierrez, Second Shift Production Supervisor in the 1530 building, is a member of the Chambersburg Division Safety Committee. Without being asked, David has taken the lead for the group and actively demonstrated Safety leadership within the committee and in his role as Production Supervisor. David is personally committed to improving Safety at the division and developing a Safety-first culture. With his leadership, the division has seen a reduction in Safety risks and exposure in the 1530 building.

Lesson Learned:

Every member on a Safety committee has taken the lead in Safety simply by participating. Sometimes leaders emerge from these situations who don’t wait for instructions to do more. Find these opportunities and take advantage of them to support the team and the division and showcase your own skills and leadership abilities.
