Olympic Steel – Minneapolis, MN (Coil): Terrence Gageby

When Bruce Zilke, MN-Coil Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, was faced with two separate challenges – transporting a truck unit from Cleveland to Minneapolis and finding a way to get material from our Schaumburg, IL facility to Minneapolis, MN – he tackled that challenge with one solution and help from Driver Terrence Gageby.

Terrence flew to Cleveland, OH to pick-up a truck/trailer unit, drove the unit to Schaumburg, IL to pick-up material, then continued to Minneapolis to deliver the material to the customer and the truck/trailer unit to the Minneapolis, MN division. This kind of request is way outside of what Olympic Steel drivers are asked to do, but Terrence accepted the challenge and made it happen. His willingness to do what needed to be done developed teamwork between three divisions and a customer!

Lesson Learned: Unique challenges often have unique solutions. Be willing to go a little above and beyond might make all the difference.
