S1 Medical Nurse Triage
Effective 10/17, S1 Medical Nurse Triage will help us efficiently determine next steps for treating work-related injuries.
S1 stands for Service First – and that’s exactly what the S1 Medical Nurse Triage program provides to Olympic Steel. They’re our partners in managing work-related injuries by providing trained Registered Nurse phone coverage, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week / 365 days a year. The triage team is prepared to assess and assist the injured person, providing empathetic medical care guidance on how to best address their injury.
Here’s how it works:
- Injured employee notifies their supervisor of the incident/injury. **If the injury is life or limb threatening, call 911 immediately, not S1 Medical.
- Injured employee and supervisor call S1 Medical Nurse Triage at 855.509.3384.
- S1 Medical Nurse Triage gathers needed information and guides the injured employee to appropriate care.
- If the injured employee is sent for additional medical care, S1 Medical Nurse Triage will immediately notify the local medical facility about the employee’s arrival. **S1 Medical already has our preferred medical facility information.
It’s really important to remember that BEFORE seeking any treatment for non-life-threatening emergencies and BEFORE leaving the job site, you and your supervisor need to call S1 Medical Nurse Triage – any day, any time – at 855.509.3384.
