Safety Superheroes in June and All Year Long

National Safety Month was a huge success! Keep the lessons learned top of mind all year long. Plus, congratulations to our Hand Hazard Recognition Contest winner!

In June, we celebrated National Safety Month with giveaways, a contest and educational resources to help you (and your hands) stay safe at work and at home.

In the first week, everyone received a Safety Superheroes shirt. In the middle of the month, over 500 hand hazards were identified across 23 divisions. Your collective efforts earned a $5,300 donation to Make-A-Wish for our winning division.

CONGRATULATIONS to Action Stainless & Alloys for submitting the most hand hazards (normalized by size of the facilities combined) and earning a donation to your local Make-A-Wish chapter! As we head into our 20th year of supporting Make-A-Wish company-wide, this donation adds another chapter (Make-A-Wish North Texas) to our annual Working for Wishes campaign.

To wrap up the month and drive home (literally) the message of recognizing hand hazards in order to minimize your risk, your local Safety representative offered an all-purpose safety glove to everyone who’d like to keep their hands safer at home. If you didn’t receive your shirt or gloves, please see your divisional Safety contact as soon as possible.

Thank you to everyone who participated this month and especially for sharing your moments with us through photos. Keep scrolling to see how we all stayed connected this month, despite our physical distance.

Safety First. Always. And, it starts with me.
